  • Ascending: Click this button to sort the column from lowest to highest or alphabetically.

  • By Color: If you have applied color formats to a table, you can use this pop-up menu to sort by cell color or font color.

Beneath the Sort functionality is the Filter section of the Filter dialog. Usually, you know what you’re looking for in a column, so the first thing to do is either type what you want in the search filter or choose it from the Choose One pop-up menu and form field. Starting at the top of the Filter options you can choose:

  • By Color: Show records in your column that match the cell color, font color, or cell icon. If you haven’t applied colors or conditional formatting, this pop-up menu is inactive.

  • Choose One: Select a criterion from this pop-up menu. Then, in the pop-up menu to the right, you can select a record from the column that matches the set of conditions.

  • Check boxes: You can select and deselect these boxes to display only rows that match the selected items.

  • Clear Filter button: Removes all criteria from the entire Filter dialog so that no filter or sorting is performed.

Filter cells by uppercase in Excel

You can apply the Special Filter feature to filter cells by uppercase from a list easily in Excel.

1. Select the list you will filter cells by uppercase, and click Kutools Plus > Special Filter > Special Filter.

2. In the Special Filter dialog box, please check the Text option, select Uppercase Text from below drop-down list, and click the Ok button. See screenshot:

3. In the popping out Kutools for Excel dialog box, please click the OK button.

Now you can see all cells with uppercase text are filtered out. See screenshot:

Filter cells by lowercase in Excel

The Special Filter feature can also filter cells by lowercase from a list easily in Excel.

1. Select the list you will filter cells by lowercase, and click Kutools Plus > Special Filter > Special Filter.

2. In the Special Filter dialog box, please check the Text option, select Lowercase Text from below drop-down list, and click the Ok button. See screenshot:

3. Now a dialog box pops out and shows how many cells have been found. Please click the OK button to close it.

Notes:

1. If you have specified the font color and background color in the Processing of results section, it will add font color and background color for all filtered out cells.

2. If you need to select the entire rows of all filtered out cells, please check the Select entire row option.
